Blazing a path for the First Frontier Appalachian Trails, the Kentucky Mountain Regional Recreation Authority (KMRRA) is the public authority established under KRS 148.0222 to develop and operate the trail system across Eastern Kentucky.
KMRRA meets every fourth Thursday of the month. Want to be part of the conversation? Every meeting is open to the public — community members, landowners, investors, and partner organizations are all invited. Check our Facebook feed for the publicly announced time and location.
First Frontier is an eighteen-county cooperative. By working together across county lines, KMRRA is building one of the largest connected trail systems in the Commonwealth — supporting local economies, eco-tourism, and outdoor recreation throughout the mountains of Appalachia.
You have a voice, and an opportunity to help shape our region. Whether you're a landowner interested in the eco-tourism opportunity, a rider who wants to give input, or a community partner, we'd love to see you at the next meeting.
